First Finished Object

Lotus Knits! is giving away hand-died wool in two beautiful colorways as part of a bloggy yarn contest.

My mother bought me a Caron Simply Soft Learn-to-Knit kit for Christmas. I knit this scarf (which I gifted to my friend. He wore it once before it was too hot).



I made a lot of mistakes on this scarf. It's one stitch too wide, which screws up the ribbing. I did't really know how to count the rows, so the section lengths are more-or-less random. But overall, it's soft and comfy around the neck.

In the picture is a palm tree that Andy and I rescued from the dumpster.
